Hi, I’m Ali.

A licensed psychotherapist helping you thrive in your relationship with yourself and others.

Who I Work With

I support adults and couples to live the life they desire. Many people find their way to my work simply because they feel a sense of “stuckness” or dissatisfaction. Together, our work will explore your aspirations, struggles, and life experience, in order to gain a deeper understanding of yourself and increase aliveness in all areas of your life.

Some of the most common difficulties I help people navigate and overcome include:

  • Relationship challenges with self and others

  • Self-criticism and over-thinking

  • Depression, anxiety, and “I’m not myself lately”

  • Grief and loss

  • Lingering effects of trauma

  • Conflict in families of origin

  • Identity, sexuality, and gender exploration

  • Professional, creativity, and career development

  • Big life transitions such as new relationships, breakups, etc.

I am a LMFT (Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist), trained to work with adolescents, adults, and couples based in the state of California.

My Approach

I’ve heard it time and again, “I tried therapy and it didn’t work! My therapist just sat there, nodded their head, and barely spoke. Maybe I need a coach…”

In our work together, I will serve as a collaborative and reliable thought-partner in helping you gain clarity, work through obstacles that inhibit your growth, and live a more fulfilling life. I take pride in being a warm, approachable, and motivated fellow traveler, here to help support your process of moving towards a more satisfying life.

I am trained in Psychoanalytic/Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, an evidence-based and trauma-informed practice focused on exploring aspects of the self, including relational patterns and ways of being, that may be causing distress. These dynamics, which are sometimes out of our awareness, can lead to long-standing and repetitive issues that get in the way of our goals and desires.

I offer a depth-oriented, relational approach intended to alleviate symptoms and get to the core of your unease. The therapeutic relationship is confidential, safe, professional, boundaried, and personal, designed to help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself.
